Venice Clinic Art Walk & Auction To Feature NFTs – Patch

For the first time ever, guests will be able to bid on NFTs (non-fungible tokens) containing new works from famous artists like Tomaso Albertini, Bryan Brinkman, Nina Hawkins, Parin Heidari and Mieke Marple. NFTs are an evolving category of digital art which store fine art, videos, or music stored in blockchain. They are completely unique, like works of art, and people have been willing to spend as much as $69 million for a single valuable image.

Nifty Gateway, a digital online auction platform, will host the virtual NFT auction, and the works will drop on a soon-to-be-announced date. All proceeds will benefit the Venice Family Clinic, which for years has provided affordable and comprehensive health care services to over 45,000 vulnerable people each year.

“We are excited to provide this new way for everyone to view and bid on the art in person at our new Venice Art Walk Gallery,” Elizabeth Benson Forer, CEO and executive director of Venice Family Clinic, said in a statement. “After having to spend two years apart, we are also energized to have a space to help us reconnect safely with the community that makes Venice Family Clinic Art Walk & Auction a special–and vital–source of funding for the Clinic’s programs and services.

For fans of more traditional art, the Venice Art Walk Gallery will exhibit over 200 works at Santa Monica Place from Friday, April 15 through Sunday, May 1. The work will also be online here. For more than 40 years, the Art Walk and Auction have raised more than $23 million to provide health care services across LA County.
